In 7th grade, Karen Kidder's teacher pulled her aside after choir and asked her to sing a solo part.
She's been singing ever since, in everything from musicals, cabarets, and rock shows and around Jackson. She also teaches music at Vandercook School District.
"Somebody told me I could sing, so I did," Karen says. "The point is to entertain people."
Karen doesn't consider herself a "rock 'n' roll girl," but performs it with the band Alibi. She sees it as a way to keep entertaining people while spreading the word of God to whoever will listen.
"I love to make people happy," Karen says.
